The wise steward stewards his or her money with wisdom. As Christians, God calls us to be wise stewards regarding many aspects of our lives and one of those aspects is our money. Over the years, I have learned to be very careful with my money in the sense of spending. Today $100.00 does last very long. Depression is crippling. It hinders us from pressing forward, finding victory and becoming all that we are called to be. Usually depression sneaks up on us over periods of time. Many are the afflictions of depression. So what are the root causes of depression. One is sin. Sin is like a wide broad path that leads us into seasons of depression. One doesn't see it coming until it has arrived. Now multiply that depression with a room filled with people that are struggling and that have lost hope. Yes, that have lost hope, even faith, even trust, and especially confidence.

God's river is not a river of depression, nor does it produce such fruits.

As I'm sure that you are aware of, the flu season will be coming soon. Last year my daughter and wife caught a bad case of the flu. My daughter recovered in around seven days, however my wife ended up in the hospital in ICU. The virus that she caught ended up attacking her heart, damaging her heart mussel and almost took her life. She left the hospital 7 days later with heart failure, a pacemaker and a heart that only functioned at 20%. That was in December of 2008. By June of 2009 her heart was functioning at 33% as some improvement has come forth. Life has changed to say the least. My wife before this illness was in perfect health. Who would have thought.

With the flu season soon to come and fears of a swine flu epidemic. Be wise and take precautions to protect your health and that of your family.

Have you ever been there. Watching something unfold that was not suppose to happen. Sometimes our inability to listen and stubbornness brings forth the complete opposite of what God had planned. Other times we become surrounded by others that make so much noise that when God speaks we can't hear and don't listen.

Have you ever watched the fog roll in. It's amazing to watch, and very quickly the fog can take an area over making it very hard to see. Well imagine that as a picture of the enemy as mentioned in the scriptures slowly overtaking your life. You might say what enemy? It is written that we fight not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers and spiritual wickedness in high places. Like the fog, it slowly comes in and before you know it, you can't see very well. It is the same with the enemy. Before you know it, you can't see very well.

I'm not feeling all that well right this moment. My daughter just disobeyed her mother, not for the first time over a specif issue, but around the 10 in the last couple of hours. I don't like correcting my daughter and that's because she just a child. She's pretty good most the time, yet she does have this stubborn rebellious thing going on lately. So, right now she's standing in the corner. I gave her a whole 3 minutes time out and in the last minute she's asked 5 times if she can get out of the corner.

As her Father, I give her my love, I encourage her, care for her and reward her when she does well. We play together, laugh together, and have lots of fun together. I spend quality time with her teaching her, and just doing some of the things she loves to do. However of lately I'm finding this new role, one that I have yet to walk in or had to walk in. Discipline, correction and sometimes a little tough love.

Our Heavenly Father chastises those whom he loves, He prunes us at times cutting away the bad branches so that we can be more fruitful.

Sometimes life is just not a bowl of cherries. There are times when people can treat you unfairly and be quite rude. There are times when people can out and out treat you with extreme cruelties. It hurts, can lead to frustration and even deeply rooted anger. Sometimes the offenses are so damaging that they affect us for days, weeks, months and even years. Yet the person that inflicted the offences has many times gone on with their life and are rarely affected by what they have done.

Let me encourage you to pull the plug on what they have casted upon you. Let it go. Forgive them and put the matter behind you. In doing so, you set yourself free from the affects of what they have done to you. Rather than living in the situation and allowing it to affect your life and have rule over you. Set yourself free from it by simply extending forgiveness.

My wife is always sharing with me that she feels our pastor is distant and hard to get to know. I tend to agree with her, however, I also know that as the pastor he has a lot on his table. Sometimes we forget that pastors have wives, children, grand children and all sorts of responsibilities. Sometimes we forget that they are human beings just like us and encounter many of the emotions, hardships and difficulties that we all do. Sometimes we see pastors as God when the truth is, there are merely men and sometimes women. It's as if we place them on pedestals as if they are angels of something.

Have you ever ended up with a open wound or cut that was slowly healing? First comes the cut or scrape, then comes the bleeding and as times passes the wound starts to heal and the scab process begins. Sometimes infections set in, we again injure the wound and other times healing comes forth with no complications.

In many ways the above is a perfect picture of heart wounds. Those deep wounds that life, life situations, disappointments, emotional traumas and people can inflict upon us. Many times we inflict the wounds ourselves through sins and the decisions that we make. Many times we re open the very same wounds over and over and over, and no true healing ever comes forth.

Just imagine all the situations, circumstances and even difficult situations that can lead to deeply rooted heart issues. A divorce, the lost of a relative, the loss of a child, the loss of a close friend, condemnation, guilt, childhood problems, being brought up in a dysfunctional family, disapointments, failures and so on. There are many, many, situations and circumstances that can deeply wound a person.

If you have deep wounds that have never healed, let me encourage you to seek Godly counsel through a local church, pastor or deliverance ministry. There are loving, kind, compassionate people within the body of Christ that God has anointed that can truly understand you're situation and help you.

The word of God instructs us to pray for others, the needs of others and to bless others through prayer. Just imagine if the entire world petitioned God through prayer. Life can be challenging and the worries of life can ring loud. Let me encourage you to let go and let God. Just imagine if your house was not built on concrete, but rather sand. Things could become very unstable at any given time. A earthquake could occur, or a winter storm. Life should be like a celebration and filled with joy. Yes there are difficult times, hardships and we all encounter those mountains that hinder us and set us back. Regardless, life is wonderful, planet earth is wonderful and being a part of the human race is wonderful. The problem many times is where is that race taking us?

Life should be filled with peace, happiness, joy and a overall sense of well being. Jesus spoke of the wide and broad path saying many go therein and it leads to destruction. Life can be very demanding. From those daily responsibilities to just getting through the week and sometimes it's as if some one's intentionally throwing things at you. Of course it also depends on your lifestyle and how busy your days are. Some people plan and schedule so many things that they barely have time to eat. It's easy to get so busy with life's demands that there's no time for God.

Let me encourage you to start your day with Jesus. Just by simply awakening and saying "Good Morning Lord". You see Jesus can calm the storms of life, for Christ is the Prince of Peace and the peace of God surpasses all understanding, it quiets the storms and that peace also helps us put things into perspective. It quiets our souls, gives us rest and brings us into still waters.

Grandparents, uncles, aunts, best friends and people that we've spent time with just seem to fall onto the back burners of our life. Many times we are reminded of those people in thought. We make plans to contact them, but life's freeway once again consumes us. Maybe the Holy Spirit is putting someone on your heart right now. Take time and make that call. You just might put a smile on some one's face.

The children of the world, the fatherless, the homeless, the orphans, the sick, and yes even those caught up in war zones.

Remember those in need. Remember the children of the world, and those living in 3rd world countries. Remember them in your prayers and remember them in your giving. Together, we can make a difference.
